Tinea Corporis Therapy

Abstract

Tinea corporis is a skin disease caused by Dermatophyte fungi, especially by the Trichophyton species. Tinea corporis is a disease that often occurs in tropical countries or regions such as Southeast Asia and North America. Tinea corporis sufferers show typical symptoms, namely the appearance of erythematous plaques on the skin that are clearly defined, round or oval in shape, and a general predilection for the trunk. Tinea corporis patients usually attack people who have high activity and sweat actively. Tinea corporis disease therapy with topical antifungals such as clotrimazole, ketoconazole, miconazole, naphthyline, and terbinafine. In cases of systemic infection, oral antifungal drugs such as terbinafine, itraconazole, fluconazole, and griseofulvin can be used. Proper and rapid treatment of tinea corporis can provide a good prognosis and prevent resistance and recurrence.

Biography

Inneke Kusumawati Susanto, M. Biomed. Studied as a doctor at the faculty of medicine and health sciences, Krida Wacana Christian University (UKRIDA) and continued her masters in biomedicine at the faculty of medicine, University of Indonesia. Currently working as a lecturer at the faculty of medicine and health sciences UKRIDA and practicing as a clinician in North Jakarta. Languages spoken are Indonesian, English and German. Has written and published books with NIDN and also conducted many research studies and published in journals, besides also being active as a national and international speaker
