Achievements in the prevention of non-communicable diseases of school-related pathology of children and adolescents in the Republic of Belarus
Abstract
The results of preventive examinations of children to identify the prevalence of school-age pathology for 2009-2018 indicate that deviations from 3 or more systems are detected in every fifth schoolchild, posture and vision disorders were established in 39.5% and 32%, respectively. 9.4% of schoolchildren have the first health group. Among children who do not have deviations from individual systems, about 10% have sharply disharmonious physical development, more than 40% have low vital capacity (VC), and about 30% have low hand dynamometry. Such a state of health of children in the Republic of Belarus has necessitated the study of ways to influence risk factors as the most economically available method of prevention. Success in the implementation of the international project to preserve the health of children and adolescents of selected groups according to the policy of a healthy school (Health Promoting School; Comprehensive School Health; the SHE – School for Health in Europe network) in the Republic of Belarus is traced.
