Shambhavi has completed an MD in community medicine and possesses over 8 years of experience in public health. She has made significant contributions with the Uttar Pradesh Government in the control and prevention of COVID-19 cases. Currently, Shambhavi is serving as an Assistant Professor at TSM Medical College, Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, India. She is also a member of the scientific review committee of her medical college and has reviewed more than 50 protocols of postgraduate residents from various branches. Additionally, she serves as a co-guide for the theses of postgraduate residents pursuing MD in the department of community medicine.

Her research interests include epidemiology, infectious disease control, maternal and child health, non-communicable diseases, and health system strengthening.
